Scandinavian Avionics A/S wins Business Award of Initiative

The pride, that the US Department of Defense in the spring of 2019 chose Scandinavian Avionics A/S to maintain aircraft electronics for the F-35 fighter jet, together with Terma A/S remains great. This and other orders has now also resulted in Scandinavian Avionics A/S being awarded the Business Award of Initiative by DI Southwest Jutland (Confederation of Danish Industry).

- We at the board of DI Southwest Jutland are very proud that here in our area, we have a company that is able to maintain and supply the best technology, because that is really what we are talking about when it comes to electronics for the aviation industry and not least for the highly advanced F-35 fighter jet. Especially when you consider that Scandinavian Avionics A/S was up against much larger international companies, it is very impressive, says chairman of DI Southwest Jutland, CEO Jesper Toft Mathiasen, Claus Sørensen A/S.

The award was presented at a small ceremony, earlier today in the premises of Scandinavian Avionics, by Mayor Ib Kristensen, Billund Municipality and Chairman Jesper Toft Mathiasen, DI Southwest Jutland.

- However, the order for F-35 is far from the only reason that Scandinavian Avionics A/S will be awarded our initiative price this year. The board of directors of DI Southwest Jutland has assessed the company on a number of matters. In addition to the company's great training efforts by the employees to the absolute highest international level, we have also contributed to the company's courage to try new things and initiate large investments without any certainty of success or short term return on investment, says Jesper Toft Mathiasen, DI Southwest Jutland.

The company remains fully focused on the future, and the newest addition to the portfolio is development programs and solutions for drones, which are expected to become a major market in the future. Scandinavian Avionics A/S is in the final phase of a generational succession, with founder Hardy B. Truelsen handing over the share majority to his children, with his son Michael R. Truelsen having already held the position of CEO for several years.

- Hardy built the company on a solid foundation of entrepreneurship and curiosity for the past 42 years and we are honored and very proud to receive this Award of Initiative, showing that the core values and initiatives remains. We are driven by development in all levels of the organization, and this recognition shows that initiative is part of our DNA as a company. This award is truly an acknowledgement for all of us at Scandinavian Avionics A/S, says Michael R. Truelsen, CEO, Scandinavian Avionics A/S

FACTS ABOUT THE BUSINESS AWARD OF INITIATIVE

The Business Award of Initiative is presented as a tribute to the desire for creativity and the urge to create among the small and medium-sized companies in DI's circle of members. These are companies that can somehow be highlighted and emerge as a good and inspirational role model for other business executives. The winner of the Business Award of Initiative 2019 in southwest Jutland will later this year, compete against Initiative Award winners from DI's other 17 regional associations on the nationwide Initiative Award, which will be awarded in January 2020 at DI's SME conference.
