Mandated upgrade for Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT)

ELT type no.: C406 and G406 - Service Bulletin 1000 requirements per EASA directive.

ELT; SB1000; Service Bulletin 1000; G-switch; EASA; Safety; Avionics

If your helicopter or aircraft has one of the mentioned ELT types installed, you should be aware of, and comply with this new regulation from EASA. The Service Bulletin 1000 state that C406 and G406 ELTs needs to have the G-switch replaced, in order to comply with the requirements. The reason is due to possible deterioration of performance in the acceleration sensor, which could result in ELT not transmitting alert and localization signals in case of an accident.
